• How much feed should my show lamb consume daily?

  Most show lambs eat about 3% of body weight daily, or roughly 0.5 lbs of gain per day. Adjust your show lamb’s diet based on body condition and show timeline.

• How much feed will I need for my show lamb?

  • To calculate how much feed you will need to reach your target weight, multiple the days on feed by the average daily gain to determine the total pounds of feed needed. Then divide the total pounds by 50 (1 bag of feed) to determine the total number of bags you will need.
  • It is safe to estimate you will need 9-12 bags of Sunglo Show Lamb from the time you purchase your animal to your target show weight. However, these are just estimates.

• What are commonly used supplements for show lambs?

  Supplements that are used throughout the show lamb feeding period include those that promote joint, hoof and skin health like Sunglo In Motion and Sunglo Epic, as well as those that increase rib shape like Sunglo Full Tank. • Why are copper levels in sheep feed or supplements a concern?

  Sheep are at high risk for copper toxicity. Pay attention to copper levels on the tags of all feeds and supplements that you feed your show lamb and do not feed your lamb any products that are not labeled for use in sheep.
